If The White House has popped up while you’ve been searching for Atlanta wedding venues, this is one you’re going to want to save. A The White House Venue wedding gives you a beautiful 1930s mansion, tons of greenery, a pool, and multiple spaces to use throughout the day, all right in Buckhead. I recently got to photograph here, and there were so many little corners of the property that immediately had me thinking about all the different ways couples could make this venue their own.
Getting to Know The White House Venue
The White House is a 9,600-square-foot Regency-style mansion with Art Deco influence, originally built in 1930. The estate sits on about 4.5 acres in Buckhead and can host weddings with up to 150 guests. So while you’re still in Atlanta, you get that tucked-away estate feeling with big lawns, mature trees, manicured hedges, and the mansion as your backdrop.
And there’s a lot more to the property than the house itself. You have the Grand Lawn, the Lumiere Pool and pavilion, indoor entertaining spaces, and a third-floor rooftop area. I love a venue where you can move guests around throughout the day because it makes each part of the wedding feel a little different without everyone actually having to leave the property.
The Spaces You Can Use for a The White House Venue Wedding
The Grand Lawn is probably where my mind immediately goes when I think about a wedding here. It can accommodate around 100–150 guests and can be used for your ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. You also have a pretty blank canvas when it comes to design. The pink and green tablescape from this shoot is such a good example, the olive linens, pink chairs, colorful florals, and little patterned lamps stood out beautifully against all the greenery.
Then there’s the Lumiere Pool, which gives you a completely different look without going very far at all. Between the limestone pool, surrounding hedges, pavilion, and large oak tree, I could see this being such a fun spot for cocktails, portraits, or part of the reception. For a smaller celebration, the third-floor rooftop has a bar and deck overlooking the property, and the venue says intimate ceremonies there can accommodate around 40–50 guests.
Getting Ready and Spending the Day in One Place
Something I really like about The White House is that you can potentially keep so much of the wedding day in one place. The property has private rooms that can be used for getting ready, which means you don’t necessarily have to start the morning at a hotel, pack everything up, and then travel to the venue before the rest of the day even begins.
The venue’s current Base Package includes 12 hours of access to the property with six hours of event time. They also state that their event team includes a Banquet Manager, Coordinator, and setup and breakdown crew. There are additional upgrades and vendor options available, so I would ask about those when you inquire or tour since packages and pricing can always change!
Why The White House Venue Is So Good for Wedding Photos
Okay, now the photographer in me gets to have a little fun because there are so many options here. You have the white mansion and columns for those cleaner, more classic portraits, the lawn and landscaping when you want more greenery, and then the pool area for something that feels completely different. You don’t need to drive somewhere else just to get variety in your gallery.
I also love that the property doesn’t force you into one specific wedding style. For this shoot, we went colorful and a little editorial with pinks, greens, calla lilies, hydrangeas, and some really fun fashion. The bride’s layered lace dress and dramatic headpiece looked so good against the clean white exterior of the mansion. But I could just as easily see something super classic, garden-inspired, or more minimal working here too. There’s enough personality in the venue without it deciding the entire look of your wedding for you.
A The White House Venue Wedding Can Have a Really Easy Flow
This is one of those things that isn’t quite as exciting as picking florals or your dress, but it matters: how easily can everyone move through the wedding day? From a photography perspective, having your getting-ready space, ceremony, portraits, cocktail hour, and reception all at the same property can make such a difference.
Instead of losing time driving between locations, that time can go toward actually enjoying your day. We can sneak away for portraits around the mansion, head over to the pool, grab a few photos on the lawn, and then get you right back to your guests. It gives us options without making your timeline feel packed.
