Your bridal party is such a fun place to bring more of your wedding style into the day. Looking back at some of my favorite weddings from this past year. There was so much good bridal party inspiration, from mismatched dresses and different textures to classic colors styled in a way that felt completely different from one wedding to the next. If you’re figuring out what you want your own wedding party to wear, these are a few looks and ideas I loved and would absolutely carry into future wedding seasons!

Mismatched Bridal Party Inspiration
Mismatched bridesmaid dresses are one of my favorite ways to make a bridal party feel a little more personal. Instead of putting everyone in the exact same dress, you can choose a general color palette and let each person wear a different shade, silhouette, or even fabric. It still feels cohesive when everyone is together, but there’s a little more personality throughout the group.
The biggest thing with this look is giving your bridal party enough direction. Pick a few colors, share examples of the overall look you’re going for, or choose one element that ties everything together. You don’t need every dress to match perfectly for it to photograph well, in fact, the slight differences are usually what make the full group look so good together!

Mixing Colors, Textures, and Patterns
You also don’t have to stick to one solid color across the entire bridal party. Mixing different tones, textures, and even subtle patterns can add so much to the overall look. Florals mixed with solids, satin next to chiffon, or several shades within the same color family can all work without feeling like there’s too much going on. This is where looking at your wedding design as a whole can really help. Pull colors from your florals, choose tones that work well with your venue, or mix fabrics that make sense for the season. You can still have plenty of variety while keeping everything connected to the rest of the wedding.

Classic Bridal Party Looks Are Still Some of My Favorites
Not every bridal party needs to do something completely unexpected. Black dresses, neutral tones, traditional tuxes, and simple color palettes are classic for a reason, and they’re still some of my favorite looks to photograph. They can feel elevated without taking attention away from everything else you’ve planned for the day. If you’re worried that a classic palette will feel too simple, use the smaller details to make it yours. Different dress silhouettes, statement bouquets, ties, accessories, or suit styles can change the entire feel. Sometimes keeping the colors simple actually gives you more freedom with the rest of the wedding design.

Let Your Wedding Guide Your Bridal Party Inspiration
When you’re saving bridal party inspiration, don’t only think about whether you like a dress or suit on its own. Think about where you’re getting married, the time of year, your florals, and the overall style of the wedding. A look that feels right for an outdoor summer wedding might be completely different from what you’d choose for a formal winter celebration, and that’s a good thing.
I also wouldn’t get too caught up in choosing something just because it’s trending right now. Save the looks you’re naturally drawn to and start noticing what they have in common. Maybe you keep saving mismatched colors, simple black dresses, floral patterns, or really classic tuxes. Take those ideas and make them work for your wedding instead of feeling like you have to recreate something exactly as you saw it.
