If you’re looking for a Napa Valley venue that feels elevated without being overly formal, a Stanly Ranch wedding is definitely worth putting on your list! The property has vineyards, open lawns, modern indoor spaces, and plenty of options for creating a wedding day that feels like your own. It’s also a great choice if you want your wedding to feel like a full Napa weekend rather than just one day.

What a Stanly Ranch Wedding Actually Feels Like
Stanly Ranch sits on the southern edge of Napa Valley, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. The overall feel is modern California wine country, warm wood, neutral tones, natural textures, and spaces that make the outdoors part of the experience. It feels luxurious without being stuffy, and you really don’t need to do too much to make the property feel special.
There are several spaces to choose from depending on your guest count. The Glasshouse Barn can accommodate receptions of up to 450 guests, while the Cutting Garden and Lavender Lawn can each accommodate up to 300. Garden House is an option for up to 175 guests, and smaller celebrations can use spaces like The Grange, which accommodates up to 40, or the Private Dining Room for up to 20.

The Best Time of Year for a Wedding Here
There isn’t one single best month to get married here because Napa looks and feels different throughout the year. Spring is a great option if you love fresh greenery and milder temperatures, while late summer into fall gives you that classic wine-country atmosphere. September and October also fall during Napa’s harvest season, which can be such a fun time to turn your wedding into a full weekend in the area.
If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony or reception, I’d think about more than just how the property will look in photos. Temperature, sunset time, guest comfort, and your weather backup plan are all worth considering. Stanly Ranch does have potential weather backup options depending on your contracted spaces and guest count, so this is something I’d talk through with the venue and your planner early on!

Turn Your Wedding Into a Full Napa Weekend at Stanly Ranch
One of my favorite things about Stanly Ranch is how easy it is to make the experience bigger than the wedding day itself. The resort has 135 cottages and suites along with residences, and room blocks are required for weddings. Having accommodations right on the property makes things so much easier for guests traveling in and gives everyone more time together without constantly driving around Napa.
You can also host other parts of the weekend at Stanly Ranch, including a rehearsal dinner or post-wedding brunch depending on your plans and guest count. Between the restaurants, spa, pools, wellness experiences, and everything else there is to do around Napa Valley, you can give guests plenty to enjoy without feeling like you need to plan an activity for every hour.

Tips for Planning Your Stanly Ranch Wedding
Before choosing your ceremony and reception spaces, I’d start with your approximate guest count and the overall flow you want for the day. Stanly Ranch has options for everything from intimate dinners to large celebrations, so knowing your priorities will make it much easier to decide which spaces make sense. You’ll also need a professional wedding planner, which the venue requires for weddings!
I’d also plan your photography timeline around the property and sunset rather than trying to squeeze portraits into whatever time is left. There are vineyards, gardens, eucalyptus trees, modern architecture, and wide-open Napa scenery to work with, so leaving some breathing room in the timeline can make a huge difference!
