Jay and Sean’s Lake Como engagement photos in Italy were such a dream to capture! These two originally got engaged on a sand dune in Outer Banks, North Carolina. They had already booked their Italy trip beforehand, and Jay was totally under the impression that Sean was going to propose to her on their trip! He ended up surprising her and did it earlier. Being newly engaged is the perfect time to celebrate with a trip to Italy, isn’t it?

Jay reached out to me after their engagement and inquired about their 2024 wedding, which will take place in the backyard of Sean’s childhood home, and the theme is autumn cottage core. I already can’t wait! She then told me about their trip to Italy and how they planned to celebrate their engagement and were doing engagement photos there. She had booked a photographer from an Airbnb experience, but she didn’t seem too thrilled about it. I then offered to fly to Italy to capture their Lake Como engagement photos for them!

So next thing you know, I hopped on a flight, and we met at sunrise and took photos around the town of Bellagio as well as at the Villa Melzi Gardens. Bellagio is home to such charming neighborhoods and cobblestone lanes, while Villa Melzi Gardens had such beautiful botanical garden, unique statues, and romantic lakeside paths! Truly, these locations made for the perfect backdrop for some romantic sunrise Lake Como engagement photos!
