“I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths” – Proverbs 4:11-12
This proverb was written at the place where Lisa and Seth got married, right where we were taking photos of both of them being all cute and in love and I thought it was so perfect that I couldn’t not use it. Do you remember their gorgeous engagement session at Cloudland Canyon I blogged about where I talked about rattlesnake scares? lol If not then do yourself a favor and check it out here to get a preview of how cute they are 🙂
But back to the wedding, when I first met them and they told me where they were getting married, I was so excited because it seriously sounded so amazing. They got married in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in a field overlooking the mountains in Black Mountain, North Carolina. My friend Nikki was my second shooter that day and we drove together as it was a 4 hour drive. And to give you an idea of how gorgeous it is, as we were driving there and when we entered the little town, Nikki wanted me to slow down while exiting WHILE the light was green so that she could take pictures of the beautiful mountains. Of course I didn’t ha!
They got married under this gorgeous triangle arch covered with flowers and a rug underneath. I do love me a gorgeous boho wedding. Right before their ceremony, during their first look Lisa gave Seth a page off of her diary that she had written when she first met him, when they weren’t even dating yet about how she felt about him and how she knew she was gonna marry him. The whole wedding was filled with little personal touches. I tried to record the ceremony but I failed miserably but what I did record was the scripture and a little bit of the story that went something like this (Lisa if you read this and I butchered it, I apologize lol). When Seth went to Lisa’s parents to get their permission to marry their daughter, they asked him if he was sure to which he said “I am sure” and because of that their vows consisted of the officiant asking them if they were SURE they would love and support each other as husband and wife, he then asked their parents if they were sure that they wanted to give their blessing to the marriage and it was so amazing to add that little personal touch to their wedding vows.
Another things, I don’t want to forget to mention is their super cute puppy who was in the wedding party and walked down the aisle like a perfect gentleman. But by the end of the ceremony he was so pooped that he had no interest in taking any formal photos. I mean I can imagine, it’s hard being a ring bearer. He was also a party animal and hung out all night on the dance floor as well as tried to steal food off of guest plates haha. Oh and they had a food truck yum! I ate so many cookies that day.
It was truly beautiful. I leave you to check out their wedding photos but I do want to end it with the scripture from their ceremony.
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. – Genesis 2:18
