I have shot many many sessions at Piedmont Park but this is by far the best and my most favorite engagement session there. Everyone that lives around here knows this park and it is always super crowded at any time of the day and it is also picked by EVERYONE as their main location to do their engagement photos as well as any other kind as well. Amy picked this place because she works at the park and it was special to her to do her engagement session there.
I met John few months before their engagement photos. I was referred to him by a mutual videographer friend who I have worked with before to capture their proposal. John met with me and told me his plan to propose to Amy at the Atlanta Botanical gardens. We had planned out where we were gonna meet and everything. I brought my family along with me so that it looks like I am just some random person taking pictures of her family. We actually had our signals crossed and I didn’t know where John was bringing her from so I ended up hiding at the same place they were entering from. I felt so stupid but it worked out lol
When I met with both of them for the first time together, Amy told me about what she wanted from her engagement session and how she wanted to incorporate a farmers market in it as well and so of course I was STOKED!! If you don’t already know this about me, I love unique themed sessions and sessions that are unique to the individual couples.
We decided to meet in Atlanta in the morning and hopefully catch the blue hour before the sun comes up. We ran a little bit late so ended up missing the blue hour but we got to the park right before the sun was fully up. It was cold as heck that morning and riding around in a golf cart made it ten times worst lol When we got there the pond was covered in thick fog and it made everything so magical. We got some gorgeous shots with it and with the golden sun rise.
We then headed to the farmer’s market that meets once a month right outside of the park and walked around and took some shots there. It was truly a beautiful day and fall is seriously my most favorite season. They are getting married this October in North Georgia and I know it will be MAGICAL!
