Yosemite National Park Elopement | Hayley & Josh

February 23, 2021

Last year I had a chance to photograph a Yosemite National Park elopement and I absolutely fell in love with it’s majestic beauty. Yosemite is definitely one of my favorite national park in the continental US. This is also a very popular spot for elopements.

The trip was super short but we basically explored pretty much every area of the park. It involved a LOT of driving, a lot of running to spots to catch the perfect light lol and a lot of snacking because places to eat are so expensive within the park. Because of that, I feel like I am a pro and can guide anyone who wants to elope in Yosemite National Park.

Here is a post I wrote about planning your very own Yosemite National Park Elopement →

The story of that day:

I am so glad I was able to photograph Hayley & Josh at this iconic spot in Yosemite National Park. They live close by but they were both in the process of opening their own bar (how cool is that btw, you should DEFINITELY check it out if you are ever in Fresno). Therefore, they were running late. And for a while it didn’t look like the photos were gonna happen that day. There was absolutely no service coz let’s face it all the cell phone companies suck unless you have Verizon lol

We finally picked them up at one of the entrances. After that drove to the trailhead but we COULD NOT find it. And we had followed the map and were standing right where the map said it was. There wasn’t even a single person there to ask. After 15 mins of us trying to find it, we found a ranger who told us how to get there. Finally we got to the spot and sprinted a whole of 1.1 mile to get to the spot before sunset.

We finally make it there and had to wait in line to use the spot because of how many photographers were there. And believe it or not, people don’t even want to share a PUBLIC spot. Photographers are not the nicest people lol. But once we finally got to use the spot, the sun was setting and it was just so EPIC!! It took my breath away! Check out some of their beautiful pics.
