If you’ve stumbled across this blog, it’s likely that you’re looking for the best Atlanta engagement photo locations! As an Atlanta based engagement and wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing engagements at many of these locations, or have scouted them in person.
Atlanta, Georgia offers many beautiful locations and backdrops for an engagement session, so let’s get into my top 10 Atlanta engagement photo locations below!

1.) Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park is one of my favorite Atlanta engagement photo locations. It offers such a variety when it comes to backdrops for your session, so we can achieve many different looks! It has city views of Atlanta, the beautiful Clara Meer Gazebo, historic granite steps, and plenty of pathways to walk.
If you’re looking for a beautiful location that has a little bit of everything for your Atlanta engagement photos, Piedmont Park is a great choice!
2.) Montaluce Winery – Atlanta Engagement Photo Locations
Montaluce Winery is another one of my favorite Atlanta engagement photo locations! You’ll find this beautiful location within the North Georgia mountains. If you dream of being surrounded by sprawling vineyards, patches of wildflowers, Tuscany vibes, and an epic sunset, then Montaluce Winery may be the perfect location for your Atlanta engagement photos!
Make it fun and bring a blanket and a bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset with your fiancé while you take in the beauty that Montaluce Winery has to offer!
3.) Arabia Mountain
If you’re looking for a open area with unique backdrops for your Atlanta engagement photos, then Arabia Mountain may be the perfect location for you.
One thing that I love about Arabia Mountain is that not only is it unique, but it offers an epic sunset! The image below shows you a great example of what amazing sunsets Arabia Mountain has to offer, though the images still don’t do it justice!

4.) Berry College – Atlanta Engagement Photo Locations
Known as the worlds largest campus, Berry College comes in as another one of my favorite Atlanta engagement photo locations. This is more than your typical college campus. It truly makes for the perfect backdrop for Atlanta engagement photos!
If you’re looking for a charming location with tree lined driveways, gorgeous architectural detailing, then Berry College may be your choice out of these Atlanta engagement photo locations!

5.) Atlanta Botanical Gardens
There’s just something so romantic about a garden engagement session! Atlanta Botanical Gardens is another location that has an abundant amount of backdrops and beautiful locations all throughout for your engagement photos! Its also just adjacent to Piedmont Park! From blooming flowers, Japanese gardens, unique sculptures, stunning architecture, and so much more!
One thing to keep in mind is there is a fee for personal photography sessions inside of Atlanta Botanical Gardens. This fee is $500 and includes admission for up to 10 people (which includes your photographer) for up to two hours. With backdrops like this, I think it’s worth every penny, though! 6.) Roswell Mill – Atlanta Engagement Photo Locations
Roswell Mill is a location that offers a ton of outdoor beauty. If you’re looking for an industrial/rustic feel for your Atlanta engagement photos, Roswell Mill might be perfect for you!
Along the Vickery Creek Trail you’ll find a beautiful old mill building that makes for the perfect backdrop for your engagement session. There’s also a stunning waterfall from Atlanta’s Chattahoochee River, along with a covered bridge! All of these areas provide the perfect setting for a romantic outdoor engagement session!
7.) Lake Allatoona
Lake Allatoona is another one of the many beautiful Atlanta engagement photo locations! There’s just nothing more romantic than being surrounded by the outdoors for your engagement session, and Lake Allatoona checks off all of the boxes!
From open grassy areas, boat access, docks, and trails, there are so many different backdrop opportunities for your session. Imagine bringing your favorite wine and sipping it with your love while you sit on the dock with your toes in the lake. Or even renting a canoe and enjoying the open waters! And I’m definitely not against having some fun and splashing around in the lake, either! There’s so much fun to be had at Lake Allatoona!
8.) Athens Botanical Gardens – Atlanta Engagement Photo Locations
While the State Botanical Garden of Georgia is technically located in Athens and an hour and a half away, it is well worth the trip! The gardens offer a variety of beautiful flowers and lush greenery, unique sculptures, and plenty of pathways to explore! Gardens are just naturally so romantic, and you just can’t go wrong in choosing one for your engagement session!

9.) Oakland Cemetery
Ok, I know what you’re thinking. A cemetery for your engagement session? Stay with me here! If you aren’t familiar with Oakland Cemetery, it’s Atlanta’s oldest public park, and has so much history behind it, as well as a resting place for many famous residents! It’s less than a mile from downtown Atlanta and sits on 48 acres of land! So beautiful that weddings are even hosted here.
If offers ancient oaks, magnolias, Victorian gardens, and beautiful sculptures and architecture that makes for a great backdrop for your Atlanta engagement photos! So if you’re looking for unique and beautiful Atlanta engagement photo locations, add this one to the list!

10.) Cator Woolford Gardens
Cator Woolford Gardens is such a hidden gem in Atlanta and would be the perfect choice if you’re looking for Atlanta engagement photo locations that offer gardens, Italian staircases, open green lawns, a romantic pavilion, and even a Colonnade! This location is romantic, secluded, and sits on 39 acres of beauty!
Because the Cator Woolford Gardens supports Frazer Center (programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities), there is a $100 fee for booking a shoot here, good for one hour! This is a great price for the beauty of the gardens, as well as supporting a great cause! You can even book your photography session online here!
